Becki Newton

Becki Newton, born in New Haven in Connecticut, was brought up within Guilford located in Connecticut. She's English as well as Czech heritage and first began to perform performances and musicals at local theaters. She also went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with an B.A. of European History. Newton is an Penn school student was also in the fraternity Alpha Chi Omega. After graduating, Newton then moved to New York City and landed several roles in television commercials with companies such as the Olive Garden. Newton played Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama Ugly Betty. With co-star Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted the Ugly Betty podcast, which was created by Michael Urie. In addition, she was a part of ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours Webisode Series. Ugly Betty ended in 2010 with several seasons of success, allowing it to have an end-of-series. Newton was a guest at the New York City Center's Encores in late 2009. Jerry Zaks directed the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy. She played Molly Gray and performed opposite the husband of her life, Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton made an appearance in Love Bites. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer of the romance comedy. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC had first announced plans to bring back Love Bites in May 2010. Then, once Newton announced her pregnancy, and co-star Jordana Spiro was legally bound by her My Boys My Boys to carry on the show this show was brought forward into the mid-season.
